Hello Everyone. This is Jordan Myers, the college intern at Silverdale Baptist Church. March 1, 2009 the Sunday morning college small group that meets at Silverdale switched rooms to room 204 upstairs. In this new upstairs room, I haven't yet figured out a way to set up a microphone for the podcast recordings. So in the meantime I will be creating podcasts from my office letting you know each week what we've gone over. Thank you for being a part of what we're doing here at Silverdale and I hope this podcast continues to encourage you to keep your eyes on Jesus and be a part of what He is doing everywhere.

While during a Global Impact Celebration conference at Silverdale Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN, Alys was able to share a part of her story to the young adults in a small group on Sunday Feb. 22, 2009. This is her interview with Jordan.

What are you supposed to do when you see someone going the wrong way? Many would tell you to not "judge," but are you really supposed to sit back and do nothing? In last episode of the North Point series "Judgment Call", Jordan explores what Jesus had to say concerning addressing sin in someone else's life in Matthew 18. Although Jesus gives us steps in helping someone correct a wrong, He does so within the context of finding a lost sheep. The point Jesus makes is that the purpose of all correction and judgment should be restoration. It's all about finding the one that was lost and returning them back into the fold.

Do Christians really have the right to go around judging everybody? This is a question that fuels a lot of frustration inside many people outside the Christian faith who interact with church people. In this 2nd episode of the 3-part North Point series "Judgment Call", Jordan discusses how Jesus and the early Christians defined the group of people that qualify for judgment by other Christians. Interestingly, in 1 Corinthians 5, the apostle Paul explains that the only group of people that Christians are supposed to judge on Earth are in fact other Christians and not people outside the Christian faith. This is a huge difference from what we usually see in our culture and a profound truth in Scripture.
